As part of a research residency at Taft Gardens in Ojai, California, I am designing and documenting a visual archive of Taft’s native plants and advocacy work, including white sage planting and oak woodland restoration. I am experimenting with developing these photographs using entirely organic material from the gardens, with the intention of developing a closed-loop analog documentary process that supports Taft’s ecosystem.
