an ecology of photographic techniques (ongoing)

10/2025 – 06/2026

As part of a residency at Taft Gardens in Ojai, California, I am researching and designing a visual archive of Taft’s native plants and the efforts to support their communities, including white sage advocacy and planting, oak woodland restoration, and a prescribed burn, led by Elena Rios and Jaide Whitman in partnership with the Native Coast Action Network.

I am experimenting with the photochemical properties of a variety of different native plants, sourced on-site, with the intention of developing a closed-loop analog process that supports Taft’s ecosystem.
